Change your thoughts and you change your world.
— Norman Vincent Peale
Many people are unwilling to change because it scares them, and I can understand that. However, I see change as a sign of growth; a willingness to learn and keeping an open mind to new ideas and concepts. Frankly, I find it sad when I see people stagnate; too stubborn to see things in a new light. We weren’t meant to be unmoving rocks, but rather like rivers who ebb and flow over and around them, altering our direction.
We all have big changes in our lives that are more or less a second chance.
— Harrison Ford
If you don’t like something, change it; if you can’t change it, change the way you think about it.
— Mary Engelbreit
The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step

I've altered my outlook over the years because either I've learned that I was flat out wrong, or there were things that transpired in the interim that shed new light on the subject. And while this applies to everything in life, right now, in the midst of a major US election, it’s more important than ever.
When I was in my twenties, I, like so many my age, was quick to tote the political party line, without putting any thought or effort into why I believed what I believed. That is until I met someone who questioned me. He made me think for myself. It was a real eye-opener and transformed my outlook on many aspects in life. And I’m forever grateful to him for this. My hope is that you are able to find someone like that, who is willing to question you, not because he necessarily thinks you’re wrong but forces you to question why you do what you do.
One child, one teacher, one book, and one pen can change the world.

I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.
— Mother Teresa
According to Darwin’s Origin of Species, it is not the most intellectual of the species that survives; it is not the strongest that survives; but the species that survives is the one that is able best to adapt and adjust to the changing environment in which it finds itself.
— Leon C. Megginson, Lessons from Europe for American Business, The Southwestern Social Science Quarterly
I thought of a certain person the other day, and what struck me was, that no matter what he’s been through, he’s walked away from each experience without learning a damned thing. How does this happen? No transformation. No new insights. He might as well still be six, for nothing has changed in his life. His old and worn attitude still prevails; thus, he’ll continue to live and die this way, having nothing to show for an entire life.
What will be his epitaph?
We all get scared and want to turn away, but it isn’t always strength that makes you stay. Strength is also making the decision to change your destiny.
Zoraida Córdova
My motto in life? Be an eternal student. Don’t succumb to the idea that it’s too late! That’s hogwash and it’s an excuse to be stagnant. Hell, I started publishing books only a few years ago. I can’t tell you how many things I’ve taught myself in my thirties, forties, fifties and beyond.
Keep expanding your horizons. Pick up a paint brush, learn to garden, adopt a pet from a shelter, volunteer in your community, call up an old friend you haven’t talked to for ages, walk in the park, learn a musical instrument, read a book, join a group, learn new recipes, start a YouTube channel, meet new people. Step outside your safety net and discover all that life has to offer.
He who rejects change is the architect of decay. The only human institution which rejects progress is the cemetery.
Harold Wilson
