Rolling Stone looks at a phenomenon
The following is the response I left on YouTube, after watching the above video by Rolling Stone Magazine, released just hours ago.
“Always happy to see articles, interviews, and reaction videos to BTS. I’ve been a fan since October of 2018, when family members asked me to watch some YouTube MV’s. I had this stereotypical image in my head, so begrudgingly agreed. It was a day that took my life down another path. The following year, they surprised me with a Mother’s Day ticket to a BTS concert in Chicago, and it wound up being one of the best concerts of my life. And this is coming from a person who has eclectic taste in music – Bach, Mozart, The Beatles, Allison Krause, Nirvana, Collective Soul, Linkin Park – you get the idea. Their raw talent, their outlook, their dynamics, their magnetism, was something that drew me in like no other, and I was inspired to write a book about BTS after getting to know their fandom. I shared not only my story but included dozens of stories from ARMY around the world. So, you could say, they had a vast influence on my life as an older woman.”
