Senna the Sloth

I have this thing for sloths! I just do. I find them adorable and fascinating. I love how they lumber and take life so slowly. Since it’s not readily conceivable that I will have one of my own, I ordered a stuffed animal version on Amazon, and instantly fell in love with this little creature. I named him Senna (after my fave F1 race car driver – dontcha love the irony?), and he can be seen watching TV with me, and sleeping in my bed! He takes the place of a real pet, and I swear he lowers my blood pressure by simply petting him. I’m sure my doctor would agree that he’s good for my health.

BTW, he’s a three-toed sloth and unlike his next of kin, the two-toed sloth, he’s not nocturnal. Their front claws are fused, and make them great for climbing in trees. They are also good swimmers, when they have to be.

Recently, he went to Chicago with me, and one of my friends commented, “Well, where’s the photo?” That got me to thinking… Okay, so from now on I will post a pic of him on our travels. Senna and Marion on the Road. I love it. Now I need to see them in their natural habitat. Sounds like a good excuse to me!
