The Best is Yet to Come

As I sit at my desk this morning, I remind myself how much I appreciate everyone who’s reached out with suggestions on how to spread the word for my book, Discovering BTS: an unexpected journey. Thanks, and keep those coming my way. 💜

So, what have I done to broaden my circle?

  • I approached several large ARMY Twitter accounts that I follow. Some I have contacted more than once. No replies.
  • I have written to every KPOP store in the US, asking if they’d be willing to sell my book on commission, etc. I’ve only heard back from one and they explained that currently they only accept books from Korea. I understand that. No answers from the others.
  • I wrote to a professor who is doing a study regarding BTS and their rise to fame. No reply.
  • I’ve sent information about my book to several ARMY websites/magazines. Again, reached out numerous times. Nothing.
  • Contacted a Twitter account that specializes in BTS/ARMY documentaries. No response.
  • I wrote to someone who has a popular BTS blog/podcast. She asked how I discovered her. I wrote back, then nothing.
  • I’ve advertised when and where I can, but right now, I have little money to spend, so am very limited.
  • I had an article about my book in a local newspaper.
  • I’ve done numerous book giveaways on Twitter. The last two or three I’ve done have received little response.
  • I’ve done three random giveaways on Twitter.
  • Submitted my book on Goodreads, etc.
  • Sent a book to US Senator Hirono, from Hawaii.
  • My book is available on Amazon, my Etsy store…
  • I’ve uploaded information videos on YouTube, Instagram and Facebook.
  • And as you know, I blog!
  • And, I plan on participating with YouTube’s #BTSStory
  • Etc., etc…
While it’s disheartening, I’m not giving up. My book is getting rave reviews, but they are few and far between. But just today I saw this affirmation:
“I will remain focused on my vision. Even if I have a moment of difficulty, I will not give up. I know success comes with consistency. I know that I will make it. Things will get better. No problem or challenge will stop me. Everything I deserve is coming my way.”
I know I’m not the only one experiencing this. There are thousands of ME out there, going through the same struggles. But I guess I was being naïve because I thought that word about my book would spread like wildfire within Bangtan Twitter. Hell, it’s a captive audience. So that is why I am especially disappointed. It’s so close, yet so far. But as BTS sings, and I keep reminding myself, the best is YET TO COME!

Spread the love
