What the space program offered the world!

You’ve probably heard people say (and maybe you are one of them), “The space program is a waste of money…” Well, I’m always one to jump in and say, “Take a look around your house, your job, the world. What things would you be willing to give up, that space technology has provided for us?”

When I saw this video this morning, it expressed what I’ve been thinking and saying for years. And mind you, this video only discusses  a few of its accomplishments. Think of kidney dialysis, and GPS, and improvements made to artificial limbs. How about LASIK surgery, LED’s in medical therapies, and scratch-resistant lenses. Talk about aircraft anti-icing systems, fire-resistant materials, and cordless vacuums. Ponder freeze-dried foods, solar-powered cells, and powdered lubricants.

There are hundreds of direct technologies and spin-offs. Would you be willing to turn back the hands of time?
