#Fedibookfair
How do I go about promoting a group of authors? Of course, by using the powers of my blog.
So, I’m here to introduce members of #fedibookfair, a weekend online book fair on Mastodon. Oh, not familiar with Mastodon? Well, let’s start there…
When I left the hellhole that was once Twitter, I was invited to join a Mastodon instance-Apobango.space. Unlike social media sites controlled by big, really big corporations, Mastodon is a free, open-source social media platform that’s part of a federated network called the Fediverse, a group of independent, decentralized servers. Users can sign up for free accounts on specific servers which are run by volunteers, each with their own focus, rules and policies. AND? No ads, no stupid algorithms, no nonsense. I’ve been a member for almost two years and it’s now my happy place. So, back to the intent of the post…
Fedibookfair is set up to help independent authors (like ME!) and this weekend, November 2nd and 3rd, they are sponsoring an online book fair. Independent authors are encouraged to share their books and do so by posting their information and using the hashtag #Fedibookfair.
This morning, I pulled up the authors’ list and I see 44 posts by multiple authors which I’m happily sharing with all of you. So please visit and maybe you’ll see books that might interest you. Thanks for spreading the news.
Please share this post with others. Thanks so much, Marion
