Revisiting SETI – What’s the frequency Kenneth?

Maybe you noticed; I am a science geek. I’m simply enthralled by the skies and anything related.

This morning I thought, what the heck, let’s revisit SETI@home. I actually got involved with this eons ago (okay well a couple of decades ago) when I lived in Detroit. If you are not familiar with SETI, it’s the search for exterrestrial life, which uses the 42 dish Allen Telescope Array in Mountain View, CA. Basically it “looks” for unusual radio signals from sky.

SETI@home incorporates the power of Internet-connected computers (mine for instance) along with others from anywhere on the globe. They “borrow” your computer when you aren’t using it. You (or the downloaded program that is) analyze small junks of data and sends the results back to Berkeley. In essence by incorporating thousands of PC’s, we are one hell of a supercomputer. Neat idea, huh? And this is all done with software that you download and install.

Anyhow, I thought I’d get involved with it again, so here we go. What’s the frequency Kenneth?
