Don’t install these on your computer

Ah, love this video. When I was installing windows and doing repairs on computers, I often told my clients, NEVER USE “fill in the blank”! Never! And to this day, I still offer people that same advice. At the top of my list was NORTON anti-virus. As Jay states, it’s bloatware. It’s in day it was great, but after a few short years, it became a horrendous monster that slowed your computer down and was a bitch to uninstall. So ya, it’s still on the top of my list.

So, what antivirus so I run on my computers. Microsoft Defender. Period. That’s it. Keep it clean and simple.

More advice – be mindful when you are installing software. Watch those beginning installation screens. They’ll often ask, do you want to install “such and such” (additional software)? Say no, unless it’s something you wanted and paid for. Warning, you’ll often find that the extras are already checked off for you. They’ll force you to uncheck that box, hoping you’re not paying attention and bingo, you’ve installed something else without being aware. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
