BTS - BTS ARMY - commentary

Words are very unnecessary

I happened to hear this song today, and it reached my eardrums at just the right moment, as I was texting with a friend regarding the recent Min Yoongi drunk driving arrest. Without going into detail, there was an incident with alcohol and a scooter. He failed the breathalyzer test, had his license suspended for 90 days and received a fine. That’s all I know for certain, so will not make further comment, because it is not mine to make.

Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm

Enjoy the silence – Depeche mode

However, that certainly didn’t stop ARMY (BTS fans), news reporters, magazines, and social media sites from concocting their own versions of what “really happened”, and what should be done about it. While many supported him, others took to the news like moths to flame, with some calling for him to quit BTS, leave the country, and a whole slew of other unwanted opinions. In other words, they instantly became, prosecutor, judge, jury, and executioner.

In this day and age, it’s so easy to blurt your opinions, without knowing all the facts. Just jump on the bandwagon and spread innuendo. Instead of waiting for the truth to unfold, they consult pop magazines, newspapers, fellow gossipers, and trollers. Do you not realize that the majority of “references” you quote, aren’t trusted sources of information? But obviously, that doesn’t bother you. If someone took the time to make a video, or wrote about it, it must be true, right? And please don’t wait for official press releases from reliable sources like the police, let’s just hang him in the town square. How dare he!

Words like violence
Break the silence
Come crashing in
Into my little world
Painful to me
Pierce right through me
Can’t you understand?

Enjoy the silence – Depeche mode

It’s a good thing, that those same people don’t have the capability to judge YOU the same way.

  1. Talk it! I am lucky to not have seen those comments, only references to some of them. It is horrible how people can treat each other. But you’re right-the fewer words the better. I just hope he takes care of his mental health and can move on from this well

  2. Thanks. Actually, this latest episode was just one of many over the years, and I felt I had to comment. Enough is enough people. I know my feeble words won’t make it stop, but maybe I gave a few people food for thought.
