The importance of sharing history

WW2 Combat Engineers
I recently migrated all my websites to WordPress, with this being the last one. Given its comprehensive nature, it’s an arduous task. Still, it’s worth the time and effort because it not only requires me to update links (and remove those that are no longer viable), but also because our redesign makes it more user- and mobile-friendly. One item undergoing the most significant change is the Engineer Gallery, which sports a fresher interface and is much faster to navigate, and I’m proud to say, I completed it yesterday.
And, of course, I’m still proud of one of our key assets, The VI Corps Forum, which was converted from MyBB to wpForo. It contains a vast wealth of information, interaction, and inspiration that began almost twenty years ago! If you’re not currently a member, I encourage you to join and share your knowledge with the world. Although most forum attachments migrated successfully, many are currently unavailable. However, we are diligently working to correct this. Please be patient while we work out any transitional issues. Note: if you’re a current forum member, you will have to reset your password. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Still to come, more veteran’s memoirs, links to interviews with yours truly, and articles I’ve written for magazines, etc.
So, check back to see how the new site is coming along.
Lovingly, Marion

Today, I added the Guestbook feature. I was able to regain use of the one from our old site. However, for some reason, it stopped functioning sometime in 2020. Oh dear! So unfortunately we lost some posts. While sad, I’m still pleased that I could resurrect the ones up to that point. If you love our site, drop me a few words. I’d love to hear from you.
Along with that, I also added a page which contains my published articles and interviews. I hope you enjoy them.

What a relief. I’m proud to say that as of tonight, everything from the old site has been transferred/upgraded to the new site. It was a 24/7, 4-week venture to complete what I started in 2025. I’m still pinching myself. Could this be true?
As each day passes, it becomes more apparent how important the transference of history is. I’m sad to report that hundreds of websites have flown by the wayside. As I updated links on each page, it was especially heartbreaking to see numerous veterans’ stories vanish from the internet. No one had the foresight to follow through. Thus, they simply disappeared, never to be seen again. All those stories. All those images. All that history…
However, by bequeathing my entire WWII collection to the Army Corps of Engineers, including this website, I will ensure that tragedy doesn’t repeat itself for two decades’ worth of shared experiences. I made a pledge to “my boys” that they would not be forgotten, and I stand by that commitment.
