Mastodon is Bigger Than a Twitter Replacement I watched the above, minutes after I announced (on Mastodon) that I was going to pull the TW/X plug for good. The only reason I kept TW alive was to DM about 6 or 7 individuals. However. earlier today I informed that handful of friends, that I was dumping the entire account (they can now text me if they so please). Goodbye forever TW. It hasn’t been great.
Someone once coined the term: “The ability to disagree without being disagreeable.” Seems this is a great standard to shoot for. Mastodon Migration Indeed, this seems to be a lost art. Don’t agree with someone, then please, lash out or simply claim that they hurt your feelings/offended you. Make the other guy feel guilty, thus shutting down any future conversation, regardless of subject matter. It’s the easy way out, but where does that leave us? I moved to Apobangpo when I left Twitter several months ago. It was the right decision. I have no regrets and certainly don’t miss the chaos of the TW timeline. Apo is mellow, has moderators, and minors aren’t allowed. It’s a gratifying atmosphere. I’ve met so many wonderful ARMY and others there. It’s such a pleasure to discuss music and other topics without the toxicity. Like anything else, if you want it to run smooth as silk, you need rules.
