Lunch at 2 The Moon Bakery
Today, Barb, my life-long friend (and illustrator), met me halfway between our homes at 2 The Moon Bakery, in Lake City, MI, a husband-and-wife establishment located across from Houghton Lake. It seemed the perfect place to celebrate the release of Tukaa’s Tale (Sept 2024).
When Barb shared the name of the bakery, we both felt it prophetic, since my story revolves around the two moons of Accunii. Don’t look any further, I informed her, this was meant to be!
And I kid you not, this was the album I was listening to on the way there and back. I didn’t realize the connection until I saw the album cover while uploading the above files! Are you sensing a theme here, folks?
Anyhow… the aroma emanating from the bakery kindly assaulted our senses as soon as we entered the old building (1919-1920), a quaint and cozy place, with topnotch service. We treated ourselves to fresh brewed coffee and sandwiches, later followed by some home-baked treats. Yum! And of course, we had to take some home to our hubbies.
We shared the news regarding our book but unfortunately, our copies hadn’t arrived yet (no business cards either etc.), so we scribbled down our info, promising to send something soon.
So, thanks for the great atmosphere, which lent itself to hours of stimulating conversation. Well, at least we though so… đŸ™‚
