Mirrorless vs DSLR

Mirrorless vs DSLR

From one of my favorite photo tech guys, an easy-to-follow video on moving to mirrorless.

My interest? I want to add another Canon body to my collection, so I thought, perfect time to try a mirrorless camera. I currently own an EOS Rebel T6i, and while I’m quite happy with it, I’ve always wanted an additional body, so I don’t have to switch between lenses when called for. It would be handy to have one of my telephotos on one, while maybe having my 50mm, or even my macro on the other. You get the drift.

However, since the prices of mirrorless are still too high for my budget, I will be buying a used/refurbished one. After doing some research, I’ve decided on the Canon EOS RP. Since the T6i is a cropped-framed camera, I will need to buy a simple adapter (around $50.00) so I can continue to use my current EF lenses – a real savings for me.

While I’m not looking at the R7 (not a full-frame camera), the video below talks about many of the great features of the RP.

UPDATE!!!! Jan 31, 2025

I did it. Bought a refurbished RP directly from Canon. Very happy with the price. Also picked up an adapter ring from Amazon. Both will be here early next week!! Let the fun begin.
