Hey you. Ya you, the music labels of the industry. Enough is enough. I’m here with millions of others to fight the fight for FAIR USE! You’ve gotten away with the nonsense of harassing the wonderful people who bring the best of the best to their audiences, only to be plagued with so called infractions of your rules. They’re tired of it. So are we.

Different countries/regions have different rules about when it’s OK to use material without the copyright owner’s permission. For example, in the United States, works of commentary, criticism, research, teaching, or news reporting might be considered fair use. In the case regarding the Professor of Rock, every video he has produced falls under the Fair Use Act, yet he and others such as Rick Beato, continue to fight against claims brought against them. While many of these claims come from the music industry, lately illegitimate ones are being spawned by no-names simply trying to make a quick buck.

You may say, well so what. If they ain’t legit, what’s the big deal? Well, that’s where it gets sticky because any strike against you, counts. Doesn’t seem fair, or right? You got that, but as you’ll see, a strike is a strike is a strike…

As many of you know have heard by now, Brian Wilson, the musical genius of Beach Boys fame, passed away earlier this week. Rest in peace.

Growing up, I’ve always appreciated Brian, his songs and his voice. I remember getting my first Beach Boys album, courtesy of a very kind neighbor in Detroit. One of the songs that always stood out – God Only Knows – the lyrics, the melody and those soaring, spiritual harmonies. Goosebump material. Hearing it again this morning evokes the same feelings, except now, it’s even more intense.

It appears that I’m not alone in my assessment, for hearing numerous interviews with fans and artists, it seems that many feel this is THE PERFECT SONG! I know I will never tire of hearing it. I’m including it on my desert island. Bring on the Coronas and lime…

What a pleasure to hear a great singer unplugged/live. Just goes to show how he doesn’t need to rely on autotune to shine. Authentic, heartfelt vocals that let the singer shine in his own right. No cold studio processing.

Another interesting fact? Notice how Seal plays the guitar. I was wondering what chords he was playing! At first, I thought he was a standard lefty like Hendrix. But no. He’s not only playing the instrument left-handed and upside down. So, in other words, the strings from top to bottom are: High E, B, G, D, A, Low E. Now that’s unusual and different. Leave it to Seal.

Full, live recording from that studio session…

Approximately a year ago, I introduced an eleven-year-old handpan player, Sunni Holden from Australia. I immediately fell in love with his infectious smile and his talent. Due to the number of accounts I follow on YouTube, I realized that I hadn’t had much of a chance to hear Sunni’s latest golden moments. So, today without further ado, I’m sharing some wonderfully inspiring music from the land down under. I love listening to him (and other handpan players) for mediation and as a sleep-aid. If you haven’t tried it yet, give it a shot. I hope you find it as inspiring as I do. It’s a great escape from the hectic pace of everyday life…

It’s still unfathomable that this occurred so long ago. However, I remember it just like it happened years ago…

A typical day at Plymouth-Salem High School, until Barb walked down the hall, near the gym with an album in her hands. That album? Yes, featuring Jon Anderson on lead vocals. Extraordinary album and there was no other singer like him. It left an indelible impression and in fact, I ran out, bought the album and it still has a place in my house. So, thank you Barb and thank you, Jon.
