Most days when writing, I do so in silence, purposefully blocking any distractions. However, there are days like this morning, when I welcome strains of bluesy melodies to inspire and guide me. It all depends on the mood and today my synapses are happy firing across dendrites and axons to David Gilmour’s, On An Island, album. P.S. I think Tukaa likes the album too.
A while back I posted a video of one of David Gilmour’s latest releases from his new album, Luck and Strange, to be released in September 2024. Today I had the pleasure of listening to another, Dark and Velvet Nights. It’s velvety delicious! The following is taken from his YouTube Channel: ABOUT LUCK AND STRANGE ‘Luck and Strange’ was recorded over five months in Brighton and London and is Gilmour’s first album of new material in nine years. The record was produced by David and Charlie Andrew, best known for his work with ALT-J and Marika Hackman. Of this new…
Whose music is the most well-known of anyone in recorded history? Here’s a hint: It’s not Taylor Swift, The Beatles, Bach, or Beethoven. And when you find out, it will make you smile, and I guarantee you will start humming the melodies along with me. It’s… drum roll, please!

Yes, yes, I put a spell on the village, your honor, just please make it stop! To be honest I only knew two songs. Some were passable, and out of all of them,…
Rick is one of my favorite persons on YouTube and has been part of my life for a while now. Last week he underwent open heart surgery for a bad valve (mitral valve regurgitation), and I'm pleased to say he's doing great. He's back...
Ah, let me rephrase that. I should have asked, where the hell had I been? Under a rock? Head in the sand? No, actually just out of touch. If you read my blog dated, July 10, 2024, regarding David Gilmour, then you know that I had watched his recently posted videos on YouTube. Not only that, but I've also listened to an in-depth interview with David, conducted by John Edington, focusing on Sid Barret, a long, lost soul of the first incarnation of Pink Floyd. It's a sad story, and one that I won't get into here, for I don't…
