For the vast majority of my life, I was part of a culture that vigorously attempted to throw off the shackles of nomenclature. We wanted to be defined as human beings, who stressed their commonalities, instead of pointing to our differences. But it seems the tables have turned. Watch the news or a talk show, read the newspaper, or scroll through your favorite social media page, and you’ll see what I mean. We are no longer human beings but are strictly defined by a particular sub-group.

When did we become so segregated?

The latest from The Sloth Conservation Organization. This is the story of collaring Tender, a Costa Rica two-toed sloth. New tech make the collars light enough for sloths. They collect a wide variety of data and after six months, the collar will automatically drop off and can be retrieved by following its signal. Then researchers can download the collected data.

As an independent, self-published author, I realize the importance of book reviews. As many of us say, “Reviews are our bread-and-butter!” Without the aid of the huge publishing companies like Penguin Random House, Harper Collins, and Simon and Schuster, we have to be our own advertisers and publicists.

This enhanced image of the Moon was taken with the NOAO Mosaic CCD camera using two of the National Science Foundation's telescopes located at Kitt Peak National Observatory near Tucson, AZ. The image of the Moon itself was taken through the U-band filter at the 0.9-meter telescope. It is superimposed on a deep R-band image of the background sky taken at the Mayall 4-meter telescope. This composite image demonstrates the large field of view of the 0.9-meter telescope when using Mosaic, a view that covers more than five times the area of the Moon. It furnishes this large field of view without sacrificing high resolution - details as small as a few kilometers across can be seen on the lunar surface.

I always get a big kick out of the peeps who claim we never went to the moon. When I saw this short by Neil deGrasse Tyson (one of my fave scientists, BTW), I couldn’t help but laugh aloud. Oh, damn, we forgot the stars! Okay, who’s responsible for this? You’re fired!

Thought I would share my current facial products with you. These have varied over the years, i.e. I discovered a better product, or a less costly one, that sported the same qualities. However, the one thing that is very important is that you establish a daily routine and stick to it.
