The Zooniverse project I started the other day, was a smaller one which ran out of current data, so this morning I began my third one, Solar Jet Hunters. It’s something right up my alley, since I’ve always been strongly attracted to solar research. In fact, if I could start a new career in astrophysics, this would wind up being my course of study. Tonight, we watched an intriguing episode of NOVA, regarding artificial intelligence, otherwise known as A.I. If you’re curious about this equally fascinating, as well as potentially scary subject, this program will give you food for thought.
Unfortunately, I could never have a grey parrot or any other bird for that matter, because on a scale of 0-5, I ranked a 4+ when I was recently allergy tested. However, that doesn’t preclude me from watching hours of YouTube videos of my favorite bird, Gizmo.
Earlier this year I began watching videos of Gabe, an autistic and nonverbal (now) thirteen-year-old, who immediately touched my heart with his love of music, his earnest smile and his kind eyes. It brought tears to my eyes each time I saw him “communicate” with his mother, Nikki and the few individuals he allows into his world, including his babysitter, Gaby, his grandfather, his physical trainer, and a new autistic friend.
