THE MAY 10TH SUPERSTORM ELECTRIFIED EARTH’S ATMOSPHERE: The geomagnetic superstorm of May 10, 2024, did more than spark widespread auroras. New data show that it also electrified Earth’s atmosphere. Fair weather electric fields jumped as much as 15% for four days after the storm.

A few years ago, I signed up to receive newsletters from Spaceweather.com, a news and information website about the Sun-Earth environment. They have many fascination articles, including information on when and where you can watch the aurora borealis, more commonly known as the northern lights (in my part of the world).
